GOD IS OUR HOPE 06-15-23

_ 081614 Our hope in Jesus

The word “HOPE” is in the forefront of my spirit and I went to the Old Testament and found some scripture that fits what a lot of people are going through right now. Be blessed by the Word today.

Today’s Prayer

Father, teach us to follow You and the example of Your son, not just to try to do as He did, but to be as He was. That’s the core of it, to become more Christ-like, and then our doing will be the fruit. We must have love in our hearts, no unforgiveness, no bitterness, no envy, no self-centered agenda, and then it will be easy to show love in our actions. We will need Your help. We can’t do it without You, but if we truly seek Your will, and ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance, then we will be able to fulfill Your plan for our lives. Help us to develop patience, and strength and courage, for our sake. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

GOD IS OUR CONFIDENCE, OUR HOPE

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1

Give this some thought; the saddest word in the English language is hopeless. If you are a child of God, there is no situation for you that is hopeless. Hope is confidence. And we can always have confidence in God.

I know that no matter what happens to me, my God is greater. You ask, “What if they tell you you’re going to die in five minutes?” Okay, I’m going to Heaven. I’m going to be made like the Lord Jesus Christ. Joy is steadfast in sorrow. Joy is triumphant in tribulation. Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 7:4, “I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.” Joy is lasting in losses.

What if you found out your house had been broken into? Your jewelry is gone, your mementos are gone, your television is gone, and your microwave is gone. It’s all gone. Would you still have joy? If you got joy from your house, you wouldn’t still have joy. But if you got your joy from the Lord, you’d still have joy.

  • When was the last time you had joy in a difficult time?
  • What are some matters in your life where you need to be reminded of God’s hope?

Spend some time with a fellow Christian and encourage one another to have joy in difficult moments.
