Greetings everyone. A very deep question hit my spirit as I opened my eyes for the first time today and I thought it would be a good idea to ask all of you , so get ready!
Today’s Prayer
Father, Thank You for the blessing of spiritual gifts that You have given us. We are honored to be a part of what You want to accomplish on this earth and in people’s lives. We pray for wisdom, gained from the experiences and knowledge You have allowed us to have, and for guidance through Your awesome Holy Spirit. We know that sometimes we just go and do and it’s not always what You have planned for us. Please forgive us of not waiting or listening to You in those cases. We want to be sensitive to Your leading. We want to grow through the faith experiences You take us through. We want to trust You fully in all things every day. We want to be a vessel through which You minister to others. We want to use the spiritual gifts You have given us to serve You and make a difference in the world around us. Help us please. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
WHO IS RUNNING YOUR LIFE
So many people are sitting on the throne of their lives, saying, “It’s my life. I’m going to do what I want to do. Nobody’s going to tell me what to do. Nobody’s going to make me do anything. I’m going run my life myself.” The interests of life: business, family, pleasure, sex, home, vacations, education are influenced by who is on the throne. The self-directed life is full of many pursuits without any true satisfaction(that’s real talk).
In a Christ-controlled life, Christ is not outside of life. Christ is in that life, and Christ is on the throne of that life. A Christian is not somebody who merely believes intellectually that Christ died for sins. The devil believes that. A Christian is somebody who has invited Christ into his or her life to take control as Lord. Jesus takes the throne.
- What are some ways you have sought to run your life? How has that worked out or not worked out?
- What does it look like to have Christ as Lord of your life? Who has been an example of that for you?
Thank someone who has been to you an example of a life under Christ’s lordship. Ask that person for insight on how you can do likewise.
