FAITHFULNESS 10-07-15

_ 030214 Remain Faithful

(CLICK THE PICTURE) Good morning and give thanks to the lord, for He is good and His grace and mercy endure forever. Just praise Him for who he is. I would also like to ask all of you to keep a friend of mine and her family in your prayers. Her name is Carol Sekula and she is having or maybe has already had a surgical procedure on her heart and needs us to keep her lifted up.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I stand in the gap for my brothers and sisters everywhere to ask that You would help us see that we must commit ourselves to a higher purpose than just gaining personal wealth and material possessions. If we concentrate solely on these, and neglect the spiritual, we will have no center, no higher commitment outside of ourselves! Help us see that such a life is as if one would choose to set out to sea alone in a boat with no compass, no purpose, no port in mind. It might be enjoyable until a crisis arises, and panic sets in. Will it take a crisis before we learn that we are not all- sufficient? Help us see that we do need You, and that we need to build a relationship with You before a crisis engulfs us. In Jesus’ name I pray and give thanks, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Encouragement to Be Faithful

(I encourage each of you to insert your name and those of your family into the following scripture)

2 Timothy 1:3-9 –

Timothy, I thank God for you. He is the God I serve with a clear conscience, just as my ancestors did. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. I long to see you again, for I remember your tears as we parted. And I will be filled with joy when we are together again. I know that you sincerely trust the Lord, for you have the faith of your mother, Eunice, and your grandmother, Lois. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. So you must never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for Christ. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the proclamation of the Good News. It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan long before the world began–to show his love and kindness to us through Christ Jesus.

Quote of the Day

Whenever I am conscious of Satan’s presence, I try to follow the formula once offered by a little girl: “When Satan knocks, I just send Christ to the door.”
