A LESSON ON RESTORATION 12-05-18

Good day everyone. This is a day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. It’s time for us to go to work and tell others about the Lord of our lives. There are many of us that have lost a lot over time and now the Lord is restoring what was lost. The meal today takes on this subject so get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I pray for men today. That’s right, men. Years ago they were the breadwinners, the heads of households, respected and many were more respectable, felt valued in their homes and on the job. Today, while that may be true in some cultures and households, values and times have changed. Some husbands may feel degraded when their wives make more money than they do. Some men feel disrespected and unappreciated by their families. Some are so busy working to make ends meet or climb a corporate ladder or to provide a certain level of lifestyle for their families, that they don’t have time with their families. Most don’t have the security in their jobs that was once available. It’s hard. I pray that men will learn to keep their priorities straight, in whatever circumstances they find themselves. I pray that Christian men will remain ethical and trustworthy and find their value in Jesus Christ, our Savior. I pray that they will love their wives as Christ loved the church, and that they will love and guide their children in the way You desire. I pray that all men will realize the importance of integrity, and chose to do what is right. I pray for those who don’t know You in a real and personal way, that they will come to know You through Jesus, and that their lives will be changed positively for eternity. Lord God, please help men become men of their word and the men You planned for them to be. In Jesus’ name I lift them up to You. Amen.

Let’s eat.

When God Restores What Has Been Taken

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten – the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm – My great army that I sent among you. – Joel 2:25

There are seasons in our lives that involve times of famine and times of restoration. Solomon tells us that He has made everything beautiful in its time and that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under Heaven. (See Ecclesiastes 3:1-11.)

GOD brings about both the good and the bad. The seasons of famine have a divine purpose in our lives. They accomplish things that only these hard places can accomplish. But there is a time when those hard places have accomplished their purpose and He begins to restore. God did this with the nation of Israel after a season of famine and devastation.

Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for He has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten – the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm – My great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will My people be shamed. Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will My people be shamed” (Joel 2:23-27).

GOD wants each of us to know that there is a time when He will restore in order to demonstrate His gracious hand in our lives. He is a loving Father who tenderly guides His children through the difficult places. If God has taken you through a time of leanness, know that He is the restorer of that which the locusts have eaten. Wait patiently for Him to bring this about in your life. He will do it.

Quote of the Day

No sin is so great but the satisfaction of Christ and His mercies are greater; it is beyond comparison. Fathers and mothers in most tender affections are but beams and trains to lead us upwards to the infinite mercy of God in Christ.
