DIVINE PREPARATION 12-06-17

Good morning and praise the lord for the ability to move your limbs and breathe in air, for He is the one that makes these things possible! The meal today is all about getting prepared for spiritual life so get ready to get fed.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you on behalf of those in my spiritual house and everyone you put in my path to minister to. You word says this: “To live is Christ, to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). We want to live unto Christ. May the days of our lives on this earth be pleasing to You. We pray that we will “die to self” and grow and become more like Christ as we journey toward that day when we will be with You in heaven. Please use us to bless others; to give love, encouragement, help, and guidance where needed; to meet material needs of the needy; and to point people to You. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for all that You have done for us, for all that You are doing in our lives right now, and for all You will do in the days to come. I present this and all things to you in the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Devine Preperation

Cleansing for Worship

Exodus 30:18

Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

Hebrews 10:22

let us go right in, to God himself, with true hearts fully trusting him to receive us, because we have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and because our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Polishing for Service

Isaiah 49:2

God will make my words of judgment sharp as swords. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand; I am like a sharp arrow in his quiver.

2 Timothy 2:21

If you stay away from sin you will be like one of these dishes made of purest gold–the very best in the house–so that Christ himself can use you for his highest purposes.

Pruning for Fruit-bearing

John 15:2

He lops off every branch that doesn’t produce. And he prunes those branches that bear fruit for even larger crops.

Hebrews 12:11

Being punished isn’t enjoyable while it is happening–it hurts! But afterwards we can see the result, a quiet growth in grace and character.

Quote of the Day

Jesus, who died for thy sins, is worthy to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. We can never ascribe too much to Jesus. But He is worthy also to be believed, in preference to Satan, unbelief, the world, or appearances; to be trusted with all, for all, before all; to be loved more than any other, in opposition to any that would rival Him;…to be followed, wherever He may lead us, through evil report or good report; to be preferred to ease, pleasure, wealth, health, to anything and everything. Jesus is worthy to be our example, our confidant, our king, and our all. He is worthy of all He requires, all we can give, all His people have done for Him or suffered in His cause.
