What a friend we have in Jesus. What a wonderful opportunity we have to know Him as our Lord and savior. Are you taking advantage of the opportunity?
Today’s Prayer
Father, remind us that our prayer-line to You is a two-way one. It is not just for us to call You in a crisis situation, it is also for You to call us! How can we know Your will for us if we are never “at home,” quiet enough, to receive Your calls? Are we so preoccupied with our worldly cares that we don’t hear and recognize Your voice? Do we not take time to be still and to wait upon You, Lord? Remind us that You don’t just call on Sundays “when the rates are less;” You want to be able to reach us any time and any place, when You might need us, or when You know that we need You. Our lives could be so much richer and fuller, so much more Christian and worthwhile if we talked with You every day! Help us to see this, Lord. It’s our call, isn’t it? We now as anointed warriors stand in the gap for all the individuals effected by the tragic situations around the world and ask for peace in their hearts and minds. In matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
ARE YOU GROWING IN GRACE
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” ~Philippians 1:6
Once we are saved, we come out of law school, and you get into grace school. Unlike law school, grace school never closes. The teacher never fails to show up. we’re continually being taught.
In salvation, there is nothing to earn but there is much to learn. Do you know what discipleship is? It simply means learning. A disciple is a learner. You’re learning to live as you should. That’s the reason none of us has a diploma yet. There’s not one of us who can say, “I have graduated from grace school.” We are being discipled by the grace of God, and He’s still working on us.
John Newton wrote the song many of us know and love: “Amazing Grace.” John Newton also wrote, “I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what I hope to be in another world; but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am.” You see, He’s still working on us, and we are growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
What are some lessons in grace you have learned?
How have you prioritized learning the things of God over the rules of man?
Put this on your to do list; Think about when you first became a Christian. Make a list of some of the lessons of grace you have learned since then.
Quote of the Day
Faith is to the soul what life is to the body. Prayer is to faith, what breath is to the body. How a person can live and not breathe is past my comprehension, and how a person can believe and not pray is past my comprehension too. ~James Charles~
