Praise the Lord for His love, mercy and grace. Today I would be doing us all a disservice if I didn’t stress what and who we should be concentrating on; Jesus. Let the scripture that follows bless you.
Today’s Prayer
Jesus, will we fail You as the disciples did at Gethsemane? Will we be found today looking the other way while many in films, TV, comedy, the press and the arts choose to blaspheme and ridicule You? Will we remain silent while others blatantly interpret their freedom of expression to mean a license to immorality or impropriety, and where reverence and respect are no longer exhibited? Oh Lord, by our very silence, will we not become a party to crucifying You again today? Help us have the courage to defend You in these trying times lest we become a party to the destruction of everything for which You lived and died, and thereby forfeit our right to eternal life. In Your name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
CAN WE LIVE LIKE JESUS
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Think about this, A lot of people say they’re on the way to Heaven, but there’s been no change in their lives. There exists a sort of “easy believism” where people ask, “Do you believe in Jesus?” We say, “Yes.” “Do you believe He died for your sins?” We say, “Yes.” Then, they say, “Well, then you’re saved.” But the devil also believes and trembles (James 2:19). You are saved when you bow the knee to Jesus Christ and make Him the Lord of your life. That’s an act of faith, and it is a change.
I want to be very clear here. You’re not saved by reforming your life. Our Lord never tells us to clean up before He’ll save us. That’s backward. We come to Jesus just as we are, but Jesus didn’t come to save us in our sin. He came to save us from our sin. Did that put a halt in your spirit for a second? If you’re not seeking to live a righteous life, then you’re not saved. The very word Christian means, “Christlike,” and in Christ, there’s no sin. You can’t be Christlike and live a life of sin.
Here are two important questions to get your spiritual thought process flowing:
- What are some things that have changed in your life since you came to know Christ?
- Why is it important that our lives are changed because of our faith in Jesus?
Share with someone how God has transformed your life because that’s what REAL CHRISTIANS DO.
Quote of the Day
If faith is lacking, it is because there is too much selfishness, too much concern for personal gain. For faith to be true, it has to be generous and loving. Love and faith go together, they complete each other. ~Mother Teresa~
