A LESSON ON BIBLICAL SWORDS 07-10-18

Good morning everyone. I had a couple nights last week where my dreams involved swords. I started thinking about it and the sword that we as Christians should have with us (the bible) was the main focus. We are going to get some insight on this day.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you this morning as humble as I can on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to request that where we can change our condition for the better, give us the wisdom and courage to do so. Where we can’t change our circumstances, help us to take control and change our attitude. Let us adopt a positive attitude that will glorify You, and may our problems become opportunities for service. “As a man thinketh” — help us to see, Lord, that how we choose to think will influence our future. Is our cup half empty, or is it half full? We can be optimistic, or we can choose to think negatively and witness to the weakness of our faith, and help to bring on the disaster that we dread. It’s up to us, isn’t it? In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Swords

Of Justice

Genesis 3:22-24

Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made. After sending them out, the Lord God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And he placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Set up to exclude Sinners Of Judgment

Zechariah 13:1-7

On that day a fountain will be opened for the dynasty of David and for the people of Jerusalem, a fountain to cleanse them from all their sins and impurity. “And on that day,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will erase idol worship throughout the land, so that even the names of the idols will be forgotten. I will remove from the land both the false prophets and the spirit of impurity that came with them. If anyone continues to prophesy, his own father and mother will tell him, ‘You must die, for you have prophesied lies in the name of the Lord.’ And as he prophesies, his own father and mother will stab him. “On that day people will be ashamed to claim the prophetic gift. No one will pretend to be a prophet by wearing prophet’s clothes. He will say, ‘I’m no prophet; I’m a farmer. I began working for a farmer as a boy.’ And if someone asks, ‘Then what about those wounds on your chest?’ he will say, ‘I was wounded at my friends’ house!’ “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs.

Sheathed in Substitute Of Defense

Ephesians 6:13-17

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Saint’s Weapon Of Judgment; The Sinner’s Doom

New living Translation

Revelation 19:11-16

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

Quote of the Day

Finally, mark this, that you must always make the AMEN strong, never doubting that God is surely listening to you with all grace and saying YES to your prayer. Remember that you are not kneeling or standing there alone, but that all Christendom, all devout Christians are standing there with you and you with them in one unanimous, united prayer which God cannot ignore. And never leave off praying without having said or thought: There now, this prayer has been heard by God; this I know of a certainty. That is what ‘Amen’ means.
