A Lesson On Houses 05-03-21

1 102113 Spiritual comfort

Good day everyone. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. We have been given another wonderful day to bring glory to His name. The question now becomes; will you do it or will you be too busy with other things?

Today’s Prayer

Father, help us to learn not to keep running ahead of You, trying to do it all by ourselves, solving all our problems and everyone else’s, and making “heavy weather.” Teach us to turn everything over to You, claiming Your promises, praising Your name, and waiting for Your direction and Your timing. Our lives could be less stressful and much more meaningful if only we’d learn. Help us. In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Four Houses

House of Bondage

Deuteronomy 5:6-8

“I am the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. “You must not have any other god but me. “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind, or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.

In Sin; House of Redemption

Exodus 12:13-20

But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt. “This is a day to remember. Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival to the LORD. This is a law for all time. For seven days the bread you eat must be made without yeast. On the first day of the festival, remove every trace of yeast from your homes. Anyone who eats bread made with yeast during the seven days of the festival will be cut off from the community of Israel. On the first day of the festival and again on the seventh day, all the people must observe an official day for holy assembly. No work of any kind may be done on these days except in the preparation of food. “Celebrate this Festival of Unleavened Bread, for it will remind you that I brought your forces out of the land of Egypt on this very day. This festival will be a permanent law for you; celebrate this day from generation to generation. The bread you eat must be made without yeast from the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month until the evening of the twenty-first day of that month. During those seven days, there must be no trace of yeast in your homes. Anyone who eats anything made with yeast during this week will be cut off from the community of Israel. These regulations apply both to the foreigners living among you and to the native-born Israelites. During those days you must not eat anything made with yeast. Wherever you live, eat only bread made without yeast.”

By Blood; House of Salvation

Acts 16:33-34

Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.

Through Grace; House of Glory

John 14:1-4

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”

Quote of the Day

Circumstances may appear to wreck our lives and God’s plans, but God is not helpless among the ruins. God’s love is still working. He comes in and takes the calamity and uses it victoriously, working out His wonderful plan of love. -Eric Liddell
