A LESSON ON POWER 12-16-20

_ 1216he Blood Of Jesus

Good day everyone. I woke up this morning grateful for the blood that Jesus shed for you and me so that we could have eternal life. I know there is someone thinking; aren’t we moving toward the celebration of birth? Yes we are and we also must get the full picture of the power that came along with the birth. The message today gives some insight into the blood and its power so put your bib on and get your utensils ready.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, this is the season for giving, because You first gave to us. What can we give You? How simple it would be if we could purchase one gift, a really special gift, wrap it, give it, and be through. But no, we can’t buy You a gift, can we? It isn’t that simple. You want us to totally surrender our lives to You. You want us to re-commit ourselves to You every day of the year. For You, Christmas was total involvement forever, wasn’t it? That too, is the gift You want from us, one that only we can give. Oh Lord, help us to love You enough to want to give You this gift. In Your holy name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

SEVENFOLD VIRTUE OF THE BLOOD

– It procures Redemption –

Ephesians 1:3-6

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

– For the Slave It secures Justification –

Romans 5:6-9

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.

– For the Guilty It ensures Cleansing –

1 John 1:5-7

This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

– For the Unclean It assures Peace –

Colossians 1:15-20

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

– For the Troubled It effects Sanctification –

Hebrews 13:8-12

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. We have an altar from which the priests in the Tabernacle have no right to eat. Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, and the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp. So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of his own blood.

– For the Unholy It gives Nearness –

Ephesians 2:11-13

Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

– For the Alien It brings Victory –

Revelation 12:10-11

Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last—salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die

.
QUOTE OF THE DAY

When was the last time you laughed for the sheer joy of your salvation? People are not attracted to somber doctrines. There is no persuasive power in a gloomy and morbid religion. Let the world see your joy and you won’t be able to keep them away. To be filled with God is to be filled with joy. -Glenn E. Sterrett
