A Needed Reminder 08-14-19

Good day everyone and give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of all of our praise. Open your heart to someone today and let them know of the glory of God.

Today’s Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, I come before You this morning on behalf of people everywhere to proclaim that You created us to have fellowship with You. Let us come before You with rejoicing — not complaining, not questioning, not asking, not beseeching, but realizing fully the privilege that is ours in being able to honor You with praise and thanksgiving. Help us seek You for who You are, rather than for just what You can do for us. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Sin, Sacrifice, Salvation

The Sin of Man brings death on all

Romans 5:12-14

When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.

The Sacrifice of Christ is for all

1 Timothy 2:1-7

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles this message about faith and truth. I’m not exaggerating—just telling the truth.

The Salvation of God is brought unto all

Titus 2:1-11

As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience. Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely. And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us. Slaves must always obey their masters and do their best to please them. They must not talk back or steal, but must show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. Then they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive in every way.For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.

Quote of the Day

God is none other than the Savior of our wretchedness. So we can only know God well by knowing our iniquities… Those who have known God without knowing their wretchedness have not glorified him, but have glorified themselves.
