A NEW COVENANT 06-09-18

Good morning, day 3 of General Synod. Praise the Lord for another day and another chance to further the gospel. When I think about how God cleaned me up, I just thank Him for The Blood and A NEW COVENANT! I would like to ask all of you to join me in saying Happy Birthday to my wife and partner of 43 years Carol Sterrett! Just hit the reply button (ON-LINE ONLY) when you read this message and simply say happy birthday.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, if and when we as Christians spend time in quiet meditation, it’s then that You can reveal “new insights” through the Holy Spirit to our spirits. For example, You didn’t send Your people, those who have accepted You, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior, to bring peace to the world. Rather, You want Your people to find an “inner peace” within themselves when they faithfully live out Your will as You reveal it to them! But Your peace is not a passive peace! You call us to recognize Satan’s tricks and the many ways in which we are being misled and deceived. We Christians are expected to “storm the gates of hell” wherever we encounter them; for only then will we have that precious peace that comes from knowing that we have stood against evil as You did in Your day. Oh Lord, give all of us, who call ourselves “Your people,” the foresight, the strength and the will to stand for Your truth! That will be our real test, won’t it? In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

A New Covenant

Jeremiah 31:31-34

“The day is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves his wife,” says the Lord. “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,” says the Lord. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already,” says the Lord. “And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.”

Quote of the Day

Prayer is simple, prayer is supernatural, and to anyone not related to our Lord Jesus Christ, prayer is apt to look stupid.
