ALL ABOUT JOY 05-22-22

1 112313 JOY

As I woke up today with aches and pains, I caught myself getting ready to start complaining and just starting sing a song because God chose to use me again today. There are many that didn’t get the chance. Let that resonate in your spirit for a little while.

Today’s Prayer

Father, as a sign I saw the other day said: “You loved the world too much to send a committee,” remind us that You seldom speak to committees, You speak to individuals. If each member of a committee consults You, and LISTENS for the leading of Your Spirit, then the committee should be unanimous in its decisions, shouldn’t it? Help us to take time to be in Your presence daily, so that we will more readily recognize Your leading. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Lord’s Joy in Saving Sinners Is:

As the Shepherd’s over His Sheep

Luke 15:3-7 –

So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

As the Buyer’s in His Treasure

Matthew 13:44-46 –

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!

As the Bridegroom’s over His Bride

Isaiah 62:4-5 –

Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his bride. Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem, just as a young man commits himself to his bride. Then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.

As the Reaper’s over His Sheaves

Psalms 126:1-6 –

When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy! Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

Quote of the Day

The most vital question to ask about all who claim to be Christian is this: Have they a soul thirst for God? Do they long for this? Is there something about them that tells you that they are always waiting for His next manifestation of Himself? Is their life centered on Him? Can they say with Paul that they forget everything in the past? Do they press forward more and more that they might know Him and that the knowledge might increase, until eventually beyond death and the grave they may bask eternally in ‘the sunshine of His face? That I might know him! ~Martyn Lloyd-Jones~
