ALL ABOUT LOVE TODAY 04-11-15

_ 022815 God is love

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. As I sit here I’m blown away by the love the Lord bestows on us as sinners, most of us pushing through the inbred nature and striving to get on the right path. It’s a process for each and every one of us on a daily basis. I went to the word to get some morsels to share on the subject so eat up.

Today’s Prayer

Father, help us remember that there is more to confession than just admitting our waywardness. In order to warrant Your forgiveness, we must truly repent, being willing to give up our sin, to turn around, and to go Your way. Oh Lord, that takes willingness and determination on our part. It takes perseverance and love, both Yours and ours. Stay close to us Father, as we humbly confess our sins to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Divine Love

Unmerited – “Not that we loved God”

1 John 4:7-10

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Unlimited – “For God so loved the world”

John 3:16 –

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Undeserved – “God commended His love while we were yet sinners”

Romans 5:6-8 –

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Unchanging – “I loved you with an everlasting love”

Jeremiah 31:3 –

In that day,” says the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people. 2 This is what the Lord says: “Those who survive the coming destruction will find blessings even in the barren land, for I will give rest to the people of Israel.” Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

Quote of the Day

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.
