ALWAYS READY 08-27-21

_ 041715 READY

As I awoke today a question dropped into my spirit; are you ready? I started thinking about the question in both a secular and spiritual sense and came up with my answer. What is your answer to this question? God knows.

Today’s Prayer

Father, when our lives seem rudderless, and we find ourselves floundering without purpose or goals, remind us that You created us for Your own purpose. How can we expect to find Your will for us unless we study Your Word and build a relationship with You? Without You, we only fall into a sea of worldly temptations, immorality, drugs, cults, self-centeredness and our only destination is hell, both here and hereafter. The choice is ours, isn’t it? Help us to choose You, and Your will for our lives. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Always Ready

Ready to Preach

Romans 1:13-15

I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to visit you, but I was prevented until now. I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit, just as I have seen among other Gentiles. For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, to the educated and uneducated alike. So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News.

Ready to Testify

1 Peter 3:15

Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.

Ready to Die

2 Timothy 4:6-8

As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

Ready for Christ’s Coming

Matthew 25:1-13

“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’ “All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’ “But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’ “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’ “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’ “So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.

Quote Of The Day

Why wilt thou defer thy good purpose from day to day? Arise, and begin in this very instant, and say, “Now is the time to be doing; now is the time to be striving; now is the fit time to amend myself.” Unless thou dost earnestly force thyself, thou shalt never get the victory over sin. ~Thomas a Kempis~
