Christ and His Own 06-07-16

_ 060716 WBTC

Good day everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. I’m leaving later this morning to go and serve God’s people in Riverdale Illinois(Pacesetter). I did a good job of getting myself prepared with this message.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you standing in the gap for my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray a prayer I have probably sent up many times before. How You must weep for our nation and for the world! Open our eyes that we may see ourselves as You must see us — accepting immorality, fornication, homosexuality, wholesale abortion, drugs, and the break-up of the family, all as a way of life. How heartbroken You must be as You see us turning from the faith of our fathers to “other gods” — self-gratification, humanism and materialism. Call us to repentance and forgive us, so that our pride will not separate us from You. Remind us again that our only security comes from being in the center of Your will, and from being obedient and wholly committed to You. It’s in Jesus’ name that I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Christ and His Own

Christ sacrificed for us

1 Corinthians 5:7

Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

On the Cross Christ accepted by us

John 1:12

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

By Faith; Christ formed in us

Galatians 4:19

Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.

By Regeneration Christ manifested to us

John 14:22-29

Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, “Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?” Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe.

In Communion; Christ coming with us

Colossians 3:4

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Quote of the Day

We do not very often come across opportunities for exercising strength, magnanimity, or magnificence; but gentleness, temperance, modesty, and humility, are graces which ought to color everything we do. There may be virtues of a more exalted mould, but… these are the most continually called for in daily life.
