Follow This Advice 12-16-19

Good day and praise the Lord for His mercy and grace. Just think of all the times that He spared your life or the lives of those around you. Today I feel led to share great wisdom for all of us that walk in the spirit of the Holy Ghost from the Book of James. It’s sound advice to be adhered to.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to say thank you for your many blessing. Thank you for holding us up when we feel we can’t make it any further. Thank you for being our great provider even when some of us don’t think we have anything. Thank you for keeping us from harming others even though we sometimes become filled with rage. Thank you for the Holy Ghost that you sent for your children. Thank you for loving us. In JESUS’ name we pray, amen.

Let’s eat.

Warning about Self-Confidence

James 4:13-17

Look here, you people who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to such and such a town, stay there a year, and open up a profitable business.” How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog–now you see it; soon it is gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we shall live and do this or that.” Otherwise you will be bragging about your own plans, and such self-confidence never pleases God. Remember, too, that knowing what is right to do and then not doing it is sin.

Quote of the Day

A saint’s life is in the hands of God as a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the saint cannot see; He stretches and strains, and every now and again the saint says, I cannot stand any more. But God does not heed; He goes on stretching until His purpose is in sight, then He lets fly.
