Four Present Possessions 04-15-21

_ 041514 Posessions

Good day to ya everyone. As I sit here, grateful for every waking moment we’ve been given by God to do the work of the kingdom, I chose four important things He has given all that love Him. Get ready for this.

Today’s Prayer

Father, without You, we have no moral guidelines — no restraining force to keep our lives in order. Without You, we are left to float free, tumbling and turning with no real purpose or direction, borne hither and yon by any current world philosophies or teachings. Help us see that just as life without the law of gravity could be confusing and difficult, just so our lives without You would be filled with error, grief and frustration. A life without a compass would soon prove pointless; without purpose and moral guidelines, life would be both chaotic and dangerous. Oh Lord, help us see our need to choose You and to seek Your highest expectations for our lives, for You have made us uniquely for Your purpose. We need You as our sovereign God and our redeeming Savior, and we need the special anointing of Your Holy Spirit to reveal Your truth and to empower us to act out Your will for my lives. Surround us with Your love and Your peace that we may want to live our lives to glorify You, and to enjoy You forever. In Jesus’ wonderful name we pray, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Four Present Possessions

Pardon – “He will abundantly pardon”

Isaiah 55:7

Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

Peace – “He is our peace”

Ephesians 2:14

For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.

Purity – “To purify unto Himself”

Titus 2:14-15

For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups.

Power – “He gives power”

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Quote of the Day

I’ve always admired tea kettle Christians. They can be up to their necks in hot water and still sing! The world wants to know how this God you talk about makes a difference in your life when you’re sitting on the burner. They want to see the reality of a life within you beyond anything they’ve ever experienced. Peter had it nailed pretty good when he wrote, Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you. -Ken Hutcherson
