Fundamental Truths 07-07-16

_ 042114 Truth

(CLICK THE TITLE) Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. I was sitting here in my office and the Lord simply dropped in my spirit the word “fundamentals”. In everything you do, if you don’t learn the fundamentals, you will probably not do well at it. Today the word will give us some fundamentals.

Today’s Prayer

Father, You are willing to accept us just as we are; our hurts, our guilt, and our sins. You love us just as we are, but You don’t want us to stay that way! When we sincerely confess our sins, help us to accept Your forgiveness, believing it, and forgiving ourselves. Repenting means to reverse our direction, and changing our ways. Help us to want to become Your “new creation,” letting Your desires become our desires, and realizing that You want only the best for us. Keep us ever in Your care, and help us grow in our faith. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Fundamental Truths

Life; Ruined by Adam’s fall

Romans 5:12-16

When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come. But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.

1 Corinthians 15:22

Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.

Redemption by Christ’s Death

Ephesians 1:7

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

Hebrews 9:12

With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.

Reception by Faith

John 1:12 –

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

1 John 5:1

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too.

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit

John 3:5 –

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.

Titus 3:5

He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

Rejection in Unbelief

John 3:18 –

There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

2 Thessalonians 2:10

He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.

Quote of the Day

Continual moderation is better than fits of abstinence interspersed with occasional excesses.
