_ 020114 Disciples

Good day and blessings on everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. Look around you right now and see the miracle of life. Give Him some praise. Today we are going to the word to get information on Jesus’ choice of disciples so get ready.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father, help us leave spaces in our day for quiet growth, for new ideas, for dreams and new insights, for new perspectives and directions, for listening for Your quiet voice, and sensing Your will for us. Let us not limit our quiet time with You, for fear that we miss out on what Your Holy Spirit has uniquely for each of us! Let us not be impatient, afraid of being at a standstill; let us learn to wait until the breath of the Holy Spirit fills our sails, and we can set forth on a course, secure in the knowledge that it is the one that You have charted for us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

JESUS SENDS OUT THE 12 DISCIPLES

Mark 6:7-13

Then Jesus went from village to village, teaching the people. And he called his twelve disciples together and began sending them out two by two, giving them authority to cast out evil spirits. He told them to take nothing for their journey except a walking sticks—no food, no traveler’s bag, no money. He allowed them to wear sandals but not to take a change of clothes. “Wherever you go,” he said, “stay in the same house until you leave town. But if any place refuses to welcome you or listen to you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.” So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. And they cast out many demons and healed many sick people, anointing them with olive oil.

I don’t know if you understand this or not but as disciples of Jesus, we too have been given the power and authority to cast out demons and heal the sick but most of us just sit back and wait for God to do miracles as if He is a magician. It’s time for us to rise up and do the things that we have been commissioned to do through the Holy Spirit. The time is now. The question now becomes, will you step up or will you just continue to sit back and wait? It’s your move.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

God strikes not as an enemy, to destroy; but as a father, to correct.
