Glenn’s Meal 03-04-14

Good day everyone and praise the Lord for another day and another chance to move forward on this wonderful journey we are on. I’m prompted by the Holy Spirit to give a reminder, least we forget what the beginning of this journey was about.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father, I come before you this morning on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask that in this season you have us in, help us to assess our lives: as Christians, as the Church, and as a Nation. Help us to see our short-comings, and to discover Your vision for us! Let us each ask: (1) Do I seek Your will and Your help daily? Do I read Your Word? Do I take time to encourage my family, and to lend a helping hand to someone in need? (2) Do I feel that we, as Your Church, are adequately teaching Your Word — Your truth? Do both our church and our government leaders seek Your will before they make decisions? (3) Are we teaching our young people the difference between right and wrong? Do we explain that Your way of living brings joy, blessings, inner strength and peace, while wrong and sinful living brings severe consequences and heartache? (4) Are we setting a good example by being concerned citizens, by trying to do our part in turning our nation around? Do we let our representatives know when we think they are misleading us and ignoring our Christian heritage? Oh Lord, forgive us as Christians for too often standing on the sidelines. Help us resolve to consecrate our lives anew in order to be better Christians in all areas of our lives. In Jesus’ wonderful name I pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A DISCIPLE

Mark 8:34-38

Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
