Maundy Thursday 032813

Good morning everyone. I ask this morning for grace from you. I know that I’m a little later than usual with the message but on this Maundy Thursday when we will commemorate the last Supper I was sitting still waiting for my word to start the day and the question “how are you living?” hit my spirit. I really had to put some thought to that question because as I have been sharing with you, I have been having some challenges lately. Then I thought about what the word has taught me over time; this life is just practice for where I’m headed for eternity. Check out what I’m sharing today.

Today’s Prayer

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Father, I know that there are evil influences in this world, causing spiritual battles for Christians. Please strengthen our desire to spend time in Your Word, that we might hide it in our hearts and know it in our minds; fill us with wisdom and boldness through Your Holy Spirit that we might be spiritually wise and on guard, ready to resist temptations and break down the strongholds that would keep us from the life You have for us. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Live as Citizens of Heaven

New Living Translation
Philippians 1:27-30

Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.

Quote of the Day

Encouragement is awesome. It (can) actually change the course of another person’s day, week, or life.
