Good morning everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and He is worthy of our praise. The time has come for us as Christians to exercise our faith in a big way. Don’t complain to anyone about how bad things are if you are not going to do anything to bring about change.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, there comes a time of testing when Christians must hold themselves accountable to You, and make hard decisions! Remind us that You too faced such times. In the next few days we face critical decisions at a crucial time in our nation’s history, for many of our leaders are usurping the Father’s authority, and have not sought His will and His directions. Help each of us to seriously and prayerfully consider the course that our nation is taking; do we want a government that advocates more cradle-to-grave control over our lives, a government to be led by “elitists,” who consider themselves to be the only ones with sufficient knowledge to lead, and who act on the assumption that the most important “right” of middle class citizens is their “right to pay taxes?” Help us, as we prayerfully seek the Father’s will, and give us the courage to return this country to the principles and beliefs that made it great. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
Let’s eat.
FAITH IN FOUR ASPECTS
Justified by faith
Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
The Believer’s Place, Standing by faith
2 Corinthians 1:21-24
It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us. Now I call upon God as my witness that I am telling the truth. The reason I didn’t return to Corinth was to spare you from a severe rebuke. But that does not mean we want to dominate you by telling you how to put your faith into practice. We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy, for it is by your own faith that you stand firm.
Believer’s Foothold, Living by faith
Gal. 2:17-21
But suppose we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then we are found guilty because we have abandoned the law. Would that mean Christ has led us into sin? Absolutely not! Rather, I am a sinner if I rebuild the old system of law I already tore down. For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
Believer’s Sustenance, Walking by faith
2 Corinthians 5:7-10
So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Faith is rest, not toil. It is the giving up all the former weary efforts to do or feel something good, in order to induce God to love and pardon; and the calm reception of the truth so long rejected, that God is not waiting for any such inducements, but loves and pardons of His own goodwill, and is showing that goodwill to any sinner who will come to Him on such a footing, casting away his own poor performances or goodness’s, and relying implicitly upon the free love of Him who so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son.”
