TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, as Christians everywhere look forward to celebrating Your birthday, remind us to take time in the midst of all the hurried preparations to see Your Presence in a hundred different ways – the song of a bird; the brilliant hues of a sunrise or sunset; the encouragement of a friend; the hug of a mate, a parent or a child; the finding of something that was misplaced; an answer to prayer or a miracle healing. Oh Lord, Your Presence is everywhere – open our eyes that we may see, and give You thanks! You want our lives to be an adventure in faith; and Your faithfulness and love give us courage and purpose. Let us not miss all that You have for us. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The LORD has spoken!”
