(CLICK THE PICTURE) Good morning everyone. As I sit here this morning in my secret place and think about the glory of God I can do nothing but grin ear to ear and praise Him. If you know Him like I know Him you better praise Him for yourself.
Today’s Prayer
Father, please give us an insatiable desire and thirst for Jesus, for Your Word, our Savior. Open our eyes that we may see ourselves as You see us, that we may see and love others from Your viewpoint, that You would be the absolute center and guiding light of our lives. Refresh our daily walk that we may walk with You in quiet places, in heavenly places, and throughout all of life into eternity. Thank You Father, our source of life and comfort and being. We give all honor and glory to You in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s eat.
A Threefold Glory of Christ
In Psalms 22, 23, 24
A Worm
Psalms 22:1-6 –
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why do you refuse to help me or even to listen to my groans? Day and night I keep on weeping, crying for your help, but there is no reply– for you are holy. The praises of our fathers surrounded your throne; they trusted you and you delivered them. You heard their cries for help and saved them; they were never disappointed when they sought your aid. But I am a worm, not a man, scorned and despised by my own people and by all mankind.
Suffering in Weakness; a Shepherd
Psalms 23 –
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup Runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Guiding in Faithfulness; a King
Psalms 24:1-7 –
The earth belongs to God! Everything in all the world is his! He is the one who pushed the oceans back to let dry land appear. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord and enter where he lives? Who may stand before the Lord? Only those with pure hands and hearts, who do not practice dishonesty and lying. They will receive God’s own goodness as their blessing from him, planted in their lives by God himself, their Savior. These are the ones who are allowed to stand before the Lord and worship the God of Jacob. Open up, O ancient gates, and let the King of Glory in.
Quote of the Day
Not without design does God write the music of our lives. Be it ours to learn the tune, and not be dismayed at the “rests.” They are not to be slurred over, not to be omitted, not to destroy the melody, not to change the keynote. If we look up, God Himself will beat the time for us. With the eye on Him, we shall strike the next note full and clear. If we sadly say to ourselves, “There is no music in a ‘rest,'” let us not forget “there is the making of music in it.” The making of music is often a slow and painful process in this life. How patiently God works to teach us! How long He waits for us to learn the lesson!
