Yesterday I presented a message on receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today I’m going to present the opposing side of the coin and the consequences of that choice straight from scripture.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, what gift can we give You, for You have everything? If You want to bring us into union with You, then we must heed Your words; we must deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow You. We must realize that Your words run counter to the world’s “Do your own thing.” What can we give You? We can give ourselves, our right to independence, so that we can become Your people. Oh Lord, this day and every day that you chose to use us, help us to love You enough to give You ourselves; all of ourselves. In your Holy name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Gospel Rejection:
Their Present Condition and Coming Doom
They are condemned already
John 3:18
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
Judicially They have no life
1 John 5:9
Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son.
Spiritually They are under wrath
John 3:36
And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
Actually They shall be damned
Matthew 16:26
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
On one side of the coin you get salvation and on the other side you get damnation. Now that you have been presented both sides of the coin which side describes your present position in eternity?
