Greater Works 02-22-20

Good day everyone. As I sit here this morning in my secret place and thank God for being the one that gives me breath and ability to think and move, I’m driven to share what is in my spirit. I look out the window and there is still snow on the ground. It’s just a normal part of the season we are in but it’s warming up and the snow will be gone. after I pray I’m going to jump into this message with both feet so get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, Today I am thinking of people who are on the wrong path, associating with people who claim to be their friends but who do not care about people; only what they can get from them. These people are “users” and “takers.” They have wrong motives and are deceitful liars. I pray that you will work in the lives of both sides of these sad situations. They all need You. I pray that the Holy Spirit will convict them of their motives and wrong actions and that the RIGHT people will reach out and touch their hearts with your love. I pray that their circumstances and situations will serve to draw them closer to you and that they will come to see the Light. I pray that I will always be one who thinks of others and does not fall into that trap of selfishness when it comes to relationships. Please forgive me of my past mistakes and sins of selfishness and inspire me to do what is right always. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Greater Works Shall You Do

“Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.” (Acts 2:22)

What I’m going to share with you is fact. We may read the word but at one point or another we all take it for granted. Free your mind up to receive what is now being presented. Fact, Jesus did all of His miracles as a man, not as God. Let that sink in for a few moments. This is a profound truth that has major implications for you and me. It changes everything. A Pastor named Bill Johnson wrote the following in a book I was reading: “Jesus could not heal the sick. Neither could He deliver the tormented from demons or raise the dead. To believe otherwise is to ignore what Jesus said about Himself, and more importantly, to miss the purpose of His self-imposed restriction to live as a man. Jesus said of Himself: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does (John 5:19-20).” In the Greek language the word ‘nothing’ has a unique meaning — it means NOTHING. Just like it does in English! He had NO supernatural capabilities whatsoever!

While He is 100 percent God, He chose to live with the same limitations that man would face once He was redeemed. He made that point over and over again. Jesus became the model for all who would embrace the invitation to invade the impossible in His name. He performed miracles, wonders, and signs, as a man in right relationship to God, not as God.

This next statement is very important for us all to understand and hold near to our hearts. If He performed miracles because He was God, then they would be unattainable for us. The fact of the matter is He did them as a man; therefore we are responsible to pursue His lifestyle. Recapturing this simple truth changes everything and makes possible a full restoration of the ministry of Jesus in His Church. Jesus said you and I will do even greater works than He did. “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12-13)

The question for each of us is;

“How dependent and obedient to the Holy Spirit are we going to be so we can experience this same power?”

Quote of the Day

The blessed Lord condensed it all into one single message of eternal comfort spoken to the disciples on the Sea of Galilee, It is I, be not afraid. He is the antidote to fear; He is the remedy for trouble; He is the substance and the sum of deliverance. We should, therefore, rise above fear. Let us keep our eyes fastened upon Him; let us abide continually in Him; let us be content with Him. Let us cling closely to Him and cry, Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea (Psalm 46:2).
