Healing On The Sabbath 01-19-20

Good morning and praise the Lord for another chance to spread the gospel so that He may be glorified. This is one of those days when I think we must be reminded what we are up against. Let the scripture hit your spirit.

Today’s Prayer

Father, remind us that neither Satan nor You can work within us against our will. You gave us “free will” and the choices we make are up to us. Oh Lord, let us choose You, Your way, every time we make a choice. Help us, for we are often weak when making decisions. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

Mark 3:1-6

1 Jesus went into the synagogue again and noticed a man with a deformed hand. 2 Since it was the Sabbath, Jesus’ enemies watched him closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath. 3 Jesus said to the man with the deformed hand, “Come and stand in front of everyone.” 4 Then he turned to his critics and asked, “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him. 5 He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored! 6 At once the Pharisees went away and met with the supporters of Herod to plot how to kill Jesus.

Just as the above scripture tells us, the enemies of Jesus watched His every move so that they could build a case against Him for breaking Jewish laws. Our enemies and critics are watching us even when you think they aren’t. They want to build a case against us to try and prove that we are not who we say we are. But if we live by the Word and not by the law, there is nothing for them to pick out. The question now is, are we living and walking in the Word? I just wanted to give you a little something to think about today.

Quote of the Day

We ought never to think we have done enough when there is question of eternity.
