In His Hands 09-20-19

Good day everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. We are moving forward today with realization that everything should be put into the hands of the Lord.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, we sing that old hymn, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” but how do we define”friend?” My belief is: A friend is someone who compliments you enough to encourage you, who is honest enough to keep you humble while being tactful enough to make his/her honesty acceptable, and who is sensitive enough to your feelings to let you know that he/she loves you. The more we grow in our faith and the better we know You, the more we realize that You are that friend! Now, we can define friend in two words – Jesus Christ! How well our parents and grandparents knew You when they sang, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.” Sometimes we only discover this when You are all we have to count on! Thank You for Your loving, caring presence in our lives. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Hand of the Lord

In Salvation

Acts 11:19-21

Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews. However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus. The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord.

In Protection

John 10:25-30

Jesus replied,“I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name. But you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me,for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”

In Judgment

Acts 13:9-11

Saul, also known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye. Then he said, “You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord? Watch now, for the Lord has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” Instantly mist and darkness came over the man’s eyes, and he began groping around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him.

Quote of the Day

The Church cannot save, it cannot heal, it cannot baptize with the Holy Spirit, and it cannot lead us into all truth. Only the Lord can do these things. When our emphasis becomes the Church more than the Lord, we have been reduced to worshipping the creation instead of the blessed Creator, and our faith has been reduced to a form of godliness which denies the very power of the gospel. We are not changed by beholding the Church; we are changed as we behold the Lord(II Corinthians 3:18).
