LOOK, LEARN, LIVE 08-26-15

_ 052014 Christian Life

(CLICK THE PICTURE) Good morning everyone. As I sit here waiting for inspiration the word Life popped into my head, you know, that thing that most of us take for granted. I traveled the scriptures and came away with a few that are sure to bless every one that takes them to heart, so get ready to be blessed.

Today’s Prayer

Father, when our lives seem rudderless and we find our selves floundering without purpose or goals, remind us that You created us for Your own purpose. How can we expect to find Your will for us unless we study Your Word and build a relationship with You? Without You, we only fall into a sea of worldly temptations — immorality, drugs, cults, self-centeredness — and our only destination is hell, both here and hereafter. The choice is ours, isn’t it? Help us to choose You, and Your will for our lives. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Look, Learn, Live

Look unto Me

Isaiah 45:18-22 –

For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the Lord,” he says, “and there is no other. I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right. “Gather together and come, you fugitives from surrounding nations. What fools they are who carry around their wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save! Consult together, argue your case. Get together and decide what to say. Who made these things known so long ago? What idol ever told you they would happen? Was it not I, the Lord? For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me. Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.

Salvation, Learn of Me

Matthew 11:29 –

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Discipleship, Live by Me

John 6:57 –

So Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you. But anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise that person at the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me.

Quote of the Day

If He calls you to a kind of service which is according to His will but not according to your taste, you must not go to it with less, rather with more courage and energy than if your taste coincided with His will. The less of self and self-will there is in anything we do, the better. You must not amuse yourself with going from side to side, when duty calls you straight on; nor make difficulties, when the real thing is to get over them. Let your heart be full of courage, and then say, “I shall succeed. Not I, but the grace of God which is with me.”
