MID-WEEK GLORY 06-03-15

_ 060315 DIVINITY

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. The Lord put a burning in my spirit some thirteen years ago to start sending out a small sampling of His word over the internet. These messages are to help spark a desire for all to dive into the full chapters represented by the snippets you get every morning so that you will be immersed in the word. The question now becomes; are you doing it?

Today’s Prayer

Father, the prayer this morning is short and direct. I ask that you would remind us all of what Corrie Ten Boom said; You were more grieved by powerless Christians than by powerful atheists! You said that we were to ask for the Holy Spirit and you would give it freely, that was a promise, wasn’t it? Help us want all that You have for us, that we may truly be “over comers,” equipped to stand for You and with You in this hostile world. It’s in the wonderful name of Jesus I present this and all things to You. Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Divinity of Christ

The Father affirmed it

Matthew 3:13-17

Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?” But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him. After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

From Heaven; Demons acknowledge it

Mark 3:11-12

And whenever those possessed by evil spirits caught sight of him, the spirits would throw them to the ground in front of him shrieking, “You are the Son of God!” But Jesus sternly commanded the spirits not to reveal who he was.

From Hell; the Disciples confessed it

Matthew 16:13-16

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

In Faith; The Centurion avowed it

Matthew 27:54

The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!”

In Fear; the Apostles proclaimed it

Acts 9:20 –

Saul stayed with the believers in Damascus for a few days. And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is indeed the Son of God!”

In Power; the Sinner believes it

John 20:30-31

3The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may continue to believe[that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.

Quote of the Day

The true secret in giving advice is, after you have honestly given it, to be perfectly indifferent whether it is taken or not and never persist in trying to set people right.
