MORE ABOUT PEACE 07-01-15

_ 070115 PEACE

Greetings everyone and praise the Lord for another day to move forward with the things He set forth. This is an awesome time we are dealing with and the message is dealing with peace so let’s get busy.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before You this day standing in the gap for my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask that You forgive us for thinking that full-time discipleship is only for ministers or other professional Christian workers, for You have called each of us, Your people, to be full-time Christians. Whether we are at home with our families, at our places of employment, while driving to work or to shop, and as we meet those who daily cross our paths. We should reflect You as we wait in a check-out line, and do we stand on Your Word as we face our political concerns and responsibilities? Remind us that often our actions or lack of action speak louder than words, and that nations are in danger of falling when good people remain silent. Give us wisdom and courage to live every day as Your representatives, for we may be the only “Jesus” that some people will ever encounter. It’s in His wonderful name I present this and all things, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Peace, False and True

Ignorance of Man; Basis of Peace

Colossians 1:15-20

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Work of Christ; Gospel of Peace

Ephesians 6:13-15 –

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

Word of Reconciliation; The Reception of Peace

Romans 5:1 –

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

Result of Faith; The Enjoyment of Peace

Romans 15:13 –

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Quote of the Day

The mighty men of God, who throughout the centuries have wrought great things by prayer, are the men who have had much painful toil in prayer. Take for example, David Brainerd, that physically feeble, but spiritually mighty man of God. Trembling for years on the verge of consumption tuberculosis), from which he ultimately died at an early age, Brainerd felt led of God to labor among the North American Indians in the early days (1700’s), in the primeval forests of Northern Pennsylvania, and sometimes of a winter night he would go out into the forest and kneel in the cold snow when it was a foot deep and so labor with God in prayer that he would be wringing wet with perspiration even out in the cold winter night hours. And God heard David Brainerd, and sent such a mighty revival among the North American Indians as had never been heard of before, as indeed had never been dreamed about.
