This is how much Jesus loves us 12-07-17

Good morning and praise God for the wonders of life He bestows on us. We are going to scripture this morning to get a dose of how much Jesus loves us so get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, its our decision to make when we feel knocked about by the problems and the stress of life, our self-esteem often starts to slip away. At these times, help us to stop and remember that how we react to our problems or hurts from others is really our choice. We can choose to have a prolonged “pity-party,” or we can remember that when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, You initiated Your unique plan for our lives! Have we forgotten that You said that If we walk closely with You, seeking Your will, that Your Holy Spirit will give us the strength and wisdom needed to deal with our problems? You really want us to “count it all joy” and to learn from our experiences. We can find inner peace, and we can be happy – it is our call! Help us Lord, for we are often weak.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

This is how much Jesus loves us

No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father.” John 10:18

The true depth of the Savior’s love becomes apparent when you consider an important truth—Jesus Christ is the only person who ever chose to die. After dealing with that statement of fact in my mind, What about soldiers who, having heard the ominous ‘click’ of a land mine, stood still until their buddies could get to safety? He didn’t choose to die in the final sense of the word; he only chose when to die. You and I, and everyone yet to be, will die eventually. But there was only One who didn’t have to die. Nails didn’t hold our Savior to the tree. Silver cords of love and golden bonds of redemption held Him there.

Read Psalm 22 and 23, to go along with the Psalm I’m presenting in this message and rejoice in the provision, protection, and providence of the Good Shepherd!

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. 2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. 3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. 5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. 6 Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. 7 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. 9 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 10 Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory.
