RECEIVING FROM GOD 06-01-17

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning and praise for another day and another chance. I was sitting quietly when this question pop into my head; are you fully receiving the blessings God has for you? That started me digging in the word for what it says about God’s blessings and I came up rich. Continue to read and get filled.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I know I have prayed this prayer numerous times before. It’s in my spirit to present it again today. On behalf of my brothers and sisters everywhere I ask that you would please help us to leave spaces in our days for quiet growth, for new ideas, for dreams and new insights, for new perspectives and directions, for listening for Your quiet voice, and sensing Your will for us. Let us not limit our quiet time with You, for fear that we miss out on what Your Holy Spirit has uniquely for us! Let us not be impatient, afraid of being stranded; let us learn to wait until the breath of the Holy Spirit fills our sails, and we can set forth on a course, secure in the knowledge that it is the one that You have charted for us. It’s in the matchless name of Jesus I pray and give thanks, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Will You Receive the Blessing God Sets before You?

Deuteronomy 11:26-28

26 “Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! 27 You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. 28 But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the Lord your God and turn away from him and worship gods you have not known before.

The above scripture speaks volumes to those who love and follow God. I believe that God is setting before us this day a blessing and a curse. We receive the blessing if we obey.. We receive the curse if we disobey. I continued to search the word and I came across no less than 6 blessings God wants to give us today in exchange for your obedience:

  1. Plenty (Isaiah 1:19-20), If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat. But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
  2. Peace (Jeremiah 26:13), But if you stop your sinning and begin to obey the Lord your God, he will change his mind about this disaster that he has announced against you.
  3. Protection (Exodus 23:22), But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you.
  4. Power (Acts 5:32), We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.”
  5. Purity (1 Peter 1:22), You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters.[a] Love each other deeply with all your heart.
  6. Perception (Psalm 119:100), I am even wiser than my elders,
for I have kept your commandments.

Do you want Jesus to be real to you so that He’s not just someone that you know or read about? Maybe you want to do more than just “pray” to Him; perhaps you want to talk to Him, and you want to relate to Him. Then read John 14:23 and obey Him.

Quote of the Day

When we learn to say a deep, passionate yes to the things that really matter… then peace begins to settle onto our lives like golden sunlight sifting to a forest floor.
