_ 010314 Salvation of God

(CLICK THE PICTURE) Good morning everyone. This is a wonderful day that has been put before us. Use it to the glory of God. Today we are going to munch on the best food we have been given by God. Get your utensils ready and put on your bib.

Today’s Prayer

Father, how can we as your children share all that it means to us to have You as the center of our lives? How can we explain the joy and the peace that have come into our lives since we have known You? You led us to Jesus and we accepted Him as our Lord and Savior, but it can all be summed up in seven words; You love us, and we love You! What a really “forever” meaning these words have! The only way to experience the depth of our significance is to step out in faith, and to live a life of commitment, honesty, trust and forgiveness; a life of sharing and caring, a life that brings an inner peace and joy! When we decided to commit ourselves to seeking Your will for our lives and then, with Your help, living in obedience to it, then we found that counting our blessings daily was better than counting the things that we don’t have and that You are indeed adequate to supply all of our needs. Thank You for Your presence in our lives; help our daily living to reflect You, as we seek to share You with others. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Salvation

Present; Salvation already in our Possession

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him. For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church. But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. So it makes no difference whether I preach or they preach, for we all preach the same message you have already believed.

Progressive; Salvation in Progress

Romans 5:6-11

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

Prospective; Salvation in Prospect

Romans 13:8-11

Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law. This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Quote of the Day

Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. you only need a heart full of grace. a soul generated by love.
