SATISFIED 02-20-19

Good morning everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. I know that many of us are going through some things right now that we’re trying to make sense of but I have it on good authority that if you get out of the way and let God handle it, His will in the situation will be done.

Today’s Prayer

Father, remind us that many men and women of high principles have worked and prayed, and some have sacrificed their lives to preserve the dreams that our founding fathers had for this nation, and You have heard their prayers! Bring us to our senses today before we unknowingly lose all that we have inherited! Someone once remarked that “Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; rather it has not been tried!” Help us to see that those who believe that nothing is worth dying for very probably have no beliefs worth living for! For those of us who believe the word that says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me,”* we ask that You help us to be Your ambassadors, that we may tell others of Your healing love, Your forgiveness, and Your amazing grace! Help us as a nation to realize that You are indeed faithful to Your Word. Help us to return to the faith of our fathers, for fear that we all become losers and sacrifice the future of our children. This we pray in the wonderful name of Jesus, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Satisfied

Not satisfied

Ecclesiastes 1:2-8

“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.

The Sinner in the World Abundantly satisfied

Psalm 36:1-8

Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all. In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good. They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots. Their actions are never good. They make no attempt to turn from evil. Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.

Saint’s Portion He shall be satisfied

Isaiah 53:11

Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.

Savior’s Reward I shall be satisfied

Psalm 17:15

Because I am righteous, I will see you. When I awake, I will see you face to face and be satisfied.

Quote of the Day

Be not discouraged because of your soul’s enemies. Are ye troubled with thoughts, fears, doubts, imaginations, reasoning’s? Yea, do ye see, yet, much in you un-subdued to the power of life? Oh! Do not fear it; do not look at it, as to be discouraged by it; but look to Him! Look up to the power which is over all their strength; wait for the descendings of the power upon you; abide in faith of the Lord’s help, and wait in patience till the Lord arise; and see if His arm do not scatter what yours could not. So, be still before Him, and in stillness, believe in His name; yea, enter not into the hurryings of the enemy, though they fill the soul; for, there is yet somewhat to which they cannot enter, from whence patience, faith, and hope, will spring up in you, even in the midst of all they can do.
