Say Yes To Jesus 06-11-20

_ 061115 JESUS SAVES

Let’s give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. It’s been very rainy few days here in the Chicago land area but the good thing for us Christians is the Son always shines no matter what the weather or circumstances are.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come to you this morning standing in the gap for all married couples. If we are to live with our mates “until death do us part,” then we must help him/her to be more lovable. How? By being more lovable ourselves! Love must be completely unselfish, sacrificial, wanting our spouse’s uniqueness developed to the fullest. Oh Lord, it’s a risk, isn’t it? But then Your love was offered with a risk too. Help us, for we are so inadequate without You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Whom Jesus Saves

Came to save Sinners

1 Timothy 1:12-17 –

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him, even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus. This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.

Came to call Sinners

Matthew 9:10-13 –

Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum?” When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

Died for Sinners

Romans 5:6-8 –

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Receives Sinners

Luke 15:1-2 –

Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!

Quote of the Day

A saying I heard years ago: ‘It doesn’t matter what you do. Just do something, even if it’s wrong!’ That’s the most stupid counsel I’ve ever heard. Never do what’s wrong! Do nothing until it’s right. Then do it with all your might. That’s wise counsel.
