WE ALL HAVE SHADOWS AND CAN LEARN FROM THEM 09-06-17

Good morning and praise God that He gave us another day and another chance. As I was going through my study today, I went back in the archives to a meal that I sent on this day in 2005. On that day I was feeling a little sorry for my self because it was such a beautiful day, people were gathering to have a good time and fellowship and I had to work. I remember getting mad about the situation and then I looked down and saw my shadow and it was following me no matter where I went and how I felt. I thought about Jesus and a big smile came to my face and the pity party was over. I remember that day just like it was yesterday and I’m going to share with all of you the prayer I prayed that morning. 12 years ago.

Today’s Prayer

(A personal prayer)

Father, “here am I, send me.” Isaiah experienced Your presence and fell on his face in repentance. He was so in awe that he cried out for You to send Him. Lord, as a child of yours, I beg for Your forgiveness and ask You to send me out into my world of influence to do Your will, to reach others for You, to accomplish that which You would have me do. I pray for Your guidance always and Your wisdom, and boldness through the Holy Spirit. I pray for my neighbors, that those who know You would grow closer to You and be Christ like in the community and that those who do not know You will see Jesus in me and my life. I pray that they will see themselves in need of a Savior, and see the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and know that You are God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Shadows

Today I’m going to share a few verses of scripture that deal with where I was twelve years ago and where I’m at today. My hope is that these scriptures will meet someone where they are right now and help them move forward spiritually:

Lamentations 3:22-24

The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”

Shadow of the Rock

Isaiah 32:2

He will shelter Israel from the storm and wind. He will refresh her as a river in the desert and as the cooling shadow of a mighty rock within a hot and weary land.

 Salvation Shadow of His wings

Psalms 63:6-7

I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.

 Protection Shadow of His Presence

Song of Solomon 2:3

“My lover is an apple tree, the finest in the orchard as compared with any of the other youths. I am seated in his much-desired shade and his fruit is lovely to eat.

Quote of the Day

We must know the power of the Blood if we are to know the power of God. Our knowing experimentally the power of the Word, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the power of prayer is dependent upon our knowing the power of the Blood of Christ.
