SOMETHING FOR THE SEEKERS OF GOD 07-03-17

Good morning and praise God for another day. The question I would like each of us to contemplate today is, am I seeking the guidance of God in every situation in my life? Tough question isn’t it? I have a little something to share on the subject so get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I believe You are using circumstances and events to move us into a place of patient waiting as You put us in the place You desire for us. Help our souls to mature, our faith to grow, our lives to be more pure and dedicated to You. James 1:2-4 tells us, “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” Lord, we praise You in the midst of it all–our special trials and daily challenges–knowing that we must learn to be patient and content as we wait upon You. Thank You for being with us through every trial, every day. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Seekers of God

God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. ~ Psalm 53:2

Are you a man or woman who is a seeker of God? The Lord delights in seeing those children of His who truly understand the meaning of life and why there is only one thing worth seeking, God Himself. I can always tell when I haven’t been seeking God. The cares of this life, the urgent over the important and the petty irritations; these are the symptoms of a life that hasn’t been in the presence of God. Do we understand, really understand? That is the question God raises to each of us today. If we understand, then why do we spend day after day toiling and fretting over what doesn’t matter? Can we set proper boundaries in our lives that don’t allow our time with Him to be continually stolen away? Its a challenge in a world that screams “activity, activity!”

Do you have a consistent time of seeking Him in your life? Are you committed to developing that intimacy with your Lord that He so desires? If not, ask Him today to help you. This is the longing of His heart. Ask Him to make it the longing of your heart. Then you will demonstrate to Him that you understand, and you will be a seeker of God. This has been just a little something to give fuel for spiritual thought. I love you and there ain’t nothin you can do about it.

Quote of the Day

I bear my witness that the worst days I have ever had have turned out to be my best days. And when God has seemed most cruel to me, he has then been most kind. If there is anything in this world for which I would bless him more than for anything else, it is for pain and affliction. I am sure that in these things the richest, tenderest love has been manifested to me. Our Father’s wagons rumble most heavily when they are bringing us the richest freight of the bullion of his grace. Love letters from heaven are often sent in black-edged envelopes. The cloud that is black with horror is big with mercy. Fear not the storm. It brings healing in its wings, and when Jesus is with you in the vessel, the tempest only hastens the ship to its desired haven.
