SPIRITUAL CONCERN

CONCERN

Good morning and praise the Lord for His mercy and grace. The wonderful reality that we live with every day as Christians is that God will not put more on us than we can bear. If you are over whelmed, it’s from one of two reasons; you have taken on things that He never intended for you to do or you don’t have Him in your life. Do a self assessment for the answer.

Today’s Prayer

Father, it’s the daily living of life that tests our Christianity. It’s the things that we put off doing that tire us the most. It’s our preoccupation with living that makes us forget You. Yet only in remembering You is there any real purpose to our lives! You have said, “I will write my laws upon their hearts.”* Oh father, slow us down so that we may hear Your Holy Spirit speak to our spirits, and discover our heart’s true longings. Almighty God, Father of all mercies and giver of all comfort: Deal graciously, we pray of you, with those who mourn, that casting every care on you, they may know the consolation of your love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. In his matchless name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Concern

New Living Translation
Nehemiah 1:5-9

“O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps his covenant of unfailing love with those who love him and obey his commands, listen to my prayer! Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel. I confess that we have sinned against you. Yes, even my own family and I have sinned! We have sinned terribly by not obeying the commands, decrees, and regulations that you gave us through your servant Moses. “Please remember what you told your servant Moses: ‘If you are unfaithful to me, I will scatter you among the nations. But if you return to me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honored.’

Quote of the Day

Friendship arises out of mere companionship when two or more of the companions discover that they have in common some insight or interest or even taste which the others do not share and which, till that moment, each believed to be his own unique treasure (or burden). The typical _expression of opening Friendship would be something like, “What? You too? I thought I was the only one.”…. It is when two such person discover one another, when, whether with immense difficulties and semi-articulate fumbling’s or with what would seem to us amazing and elliptical speed, they share their vision – it is then that friendship is born. And instantly they stand together in an immense solitude.
