SPIRITUAL DOORS 09-20-16

_ 091814 Three doors

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone and praise the Lord for mercy and grace. I was sitting here in my secret place thinking about the way God has changed my life over the years and all of the doors he has opened for me to walk through that without Him I would have never gotten to experience so I thought I would share with all of you some of the things the bible says about spiritual doors.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you with something that is sitting heavy on my heart. It seems that sometimes it takes a crisis to unite us as a nation before we turn to You. When will we realize that we each need to include You daily in our lives in order to know that we can count on You in times of need. Help us each to continue to pray for all of the suffering families. Comfort those who have lost loved ones, and those who have been seriously injured. Help them to find consolation in the verse of Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for You are with me; Thank You, Lord, for Your assurance and for Your help in our time of need. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Doors

Door of Salvation

John 10:9

Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.

The Way of Life; Door of Communion

Matthew 6:5-6

When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Source of Strength; Door of Service

Revelation 3:7-8

This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open: I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.

Privilege of Servants; Door of Glory

Revelation 4:1

Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”

The Hope of Saints; Door of Mercy

Luke 13:22-25

Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” He replied, “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

Quote of the Day

When you can help someone, don’t expect your pastor to do it.
