_ 033015 Facts

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. This day and everyday, it’s all about Jesus. Let that run around in your spirit for a while.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you this day on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask that You teach us to roll with the punches when even family and friends seem to delight in pointing out our faults, sometimes in chorus! Perhaps some of their criticism might be justified, but when several at one time point out a person’s faults and give unsolicited advice, this is hard to take. Remind us that Jesus too often faced criticism and verbal attacks, and yet even in His time of extreme suffering on the cross He was able to say: “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do!”* Help us to learn to forgive and to forget; but often forgetting is the hardest! You know our faults and shortcomings better than others, and You know our hearts. Teach us to live out Your love even in such trying times. It is our challenge, to “turn the other cheek,” isn’t it? In the matchless name of Jesus I present this and all things to You, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Two Great Facts

Christ died for us – Substitution

Romans 5:1-6 –

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

We died with Him – Identification

Romans 6:1-6 –

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

I can get more out of God by believing Him for one minute than by shouting at Him all night. ~Smith Wigglesworth~
