The Faith of the Roman Centurion 08-25-18

Good morning everyone. Today my spirit is heavy with the thought of the struggles of the single parents and the effect on their children. As young people get ready to return to school it’s my hope that if there is a single parent family around you that you will share your faith, love on them and join me in the following prayer.

Today’s Prayer

Father, today, I pray for all single parents who are raising children by themselves that the power of the Holy Spirit and the Blood of Jesus will fall upon them and their children. I pray for the daily walk and life of the children, that they will be delivered from evil spirits and set free from the world; that they will feel your power upon them today and that the parents will see miracles today. I pray for the single parents who are fighting for child support from the absent parent, that they will have favor in the people, courts, and the absent parent. I pray that You will work in the hearts of both parents, that the needs of the children will be met. God, be the mother or father that they may lack and provide Your love, peace, and comfort in their lives. In the name of Jesus I pray and give You thanks, Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Faith of the Roman Centurion

Matthew 8:5-13

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.” Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.” But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.

Quote of the Day

Praying without faith is like trying to cut with a blunt knife – much labor expended to little purpose.
