THE TOUCH OF JESUS 03-09=16

_ 011216 HEALING

(CLICK THE PICTURE) Good day everyone and rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. My mind was on the healing power of Jesus and decided to search scripture for examples of His healing touch. Let the scripture bless you.

Today’s Prayer

Father, remind us that our prayer-line to You is a two-way one. It is not just for us to call You in a crisis situation, it is also for You to call us! How can we know Your will for us if we are never “at home,” quiet enough, to receive Your calls? Are we so preoccupied with our worldly cares that we don’t hear and recognize Your voice? Do we not take time to be still and to wait upon You, Lord? Remind us that You don’t just call on Sundays “when the rates are less;” You want to be able to reach us any time and any place, when You might need us, or when You know that we need You. Our lives could be so much richer and fuller, so much more Christian and worthwhile if we talked with You every day! Help us to see this, Lord. It’s in our hands now isn’t it? In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Touch of Jesus

Gives Life

Luke 7:14

Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.”

To the Dead, Gives Cleansing

Luke 5:12-16

In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”  Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.  Then Jesus instructed him not to tell anyone what had happened. He said,“Go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.” But despite Jesus’ instructions, the report of his power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases. But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.

To the Vile, Gives Healing

Matthew 8:15

When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him. That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”

To the Sin-sick Gives Blessing

Mark 10:13-16

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

Quote of the Day

I am born for God only. Christ is nearer to me than father, or mother, or sister – a near relation, a more affectionate Friend; and I rejoice to follow Him, and to love Him. Blessed Jesus! Thou art all I want – a forerunner to me in all I ever shall go through as a Christian, a minister, or a missionary.
