The Watchman’s Message 11-19-19

Good day everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. This is one of those mornings that blows my mind because I’m sending this message totally out of obedience. I had another topic all ready to present when the word “watchman” dropped into my spirit and stopped me in my tracks. I scanned the scriptures to give you what is presented there. I didn’t have a complete picture in my mind but I moved forward. As I did it became crystal clear. Let it bless those whom God intended it to bless.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ, I come before you to ask that You would help us to understand where self-esteem ends and pride begins. You must know that today’s teaching is that most people don’t have enough self-esteem, and that children should be taught to “feel good” about themselves. Is it not so that You have created each of us with the gift of life, and an uniqueness in Your sight that comprises individual ability and purpose, to be discovered and developed? Parents should help each child to understand this, and encourage each to do his/her best. The more talented people have more responsibility, but everyone has some quality that needs to be developed and used for one’s own best interests, and for society’s good. These are the blessings; the danger is in letting self-esteem become over-bearing pride! Help us to see this Father. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray and give thanks, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Watchman’s Message

Isaiah 21:6-12

Meanwhile, the Lord said to me, “Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees. He should look for chariots drawn by pairs of horses, and for riders on donkeys and camels. Let the watchman be fully alert.” Then the watchman called out, “Day after day I have stood on the watchtower, my lord. Night after night I have remained at my post. Now at last—look! Here comes a man in a chariot with a pair of horses!” Then the watchman said, “Babylon is fallen, fallen! All the idols of Babylon lie broken on the ground!” O my people, threshed and winnowed, I have told you everything the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has said, everything the God of Israel has told me. This message came to me concerning Edom: Someone from Edom keeps calling to me, “Watchman, how much longer until morning? When will the night be over?” The watchman replies, “Morning is coming, but night will soon return. If you wish to ask again, then come back and ask.”

The Scoffer’s Question – Watchman, what of the night?

2 Peter 3:1-5

This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory. I want you to remember what the holy prophets said long ago and what our Lord and Savior commanded through your apostles. Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water.

Morning of Glory – “Morning cometh”

Revelation 22:16

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.”

Night of Judgment – “Also the night”

1 Thessalonians 5:2-11

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape. But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

Quote of the Day

It is startling to discover how many people there are who heartily dislike and despise Christianity without having the faintest notion what it is. If you tell them, they cannot believe…that anything so interesting, so exciting and so dramatic can be the orthodox creed of the Church.
