THE WORD OF GOD 10-01-23

Today we’re going old school with the meal. I’m going to share a message I sent out ten years ago. It shows how we should listen to the Word. First we will pray.

Father, Every person who is sharing in this time devoted to You has loved ones who do not know You. I pray for them and their loved ones, as well as my loved ones, who need You. I pray that You will work in the lives and circumstances of those who are lost. I pray that the Holy Spirit will prick their hearts and draw them to You. I pray that believers will behave as they should and will be a witness to them. I pray that You will lift up the poor, the back-slidder, the rich and lonely, the addict, the every-day person who just doesn’t see their need for a Savior. I pray for anyone and everyone who does not yet know You, that opportunities will come to them to change their lives, to give themselves to You, to repent and be saved and serving the God of the universe. Bless the prayers of family and friends, reach down and out to these lost souls. Save them I pray, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Let’s eat.

According to His Mercy

Titus 3:3-5

Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

Is our Salvation According to His Riches

Philippians 4:19

And it is he who will supply all your needs from his riches in glory, because of what Christ Jesus has done for us.

Is our Supply According to His Power

Colossians 1:9-11

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy,

Christ is a person so dear to the Father, that those who are in Christ need not be at all jealous of being accepted upon his account. If Christ is accepted they must of consequence be accepted, for they are in Christ, as members, as parts, as the same. They are the body of Christ, his flesh and his bones. They that are in Christ Jesus, are one spirit; and therefore, if God loves Christ Jesus, he must of necessity accept of those that are in him, and that are of him. But Christ is a person exceedingly dear to the Father, the Father’s love to the Son is really infinite. God necessarily loves the Son; God could as soon cease to be, as cease to love the Son. He is God’s elect, in whom his soul delighteth; he is his beloved Son, in whom he is ell pleased; he loved him before the foundation of the world, and had infinite delight in him from all eternity. ~Jonathan Edwards~
