Three Words of Cheer 10-18-16

_-101816-cheer

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, yes He is good and worthy of our praise. The word of the day is “CHEER” and it comes with scripture to support it. Let it bless you.

Today’s Prayer

(This is a personal prayer)

Father, Your word has told us that “Blessed are the meek,” but how meek, Lord? Sometimes I feel that I am being “used,” taken advantage of; do You know what I mean? Help me to stop and ask myself, “Am I doing this for John Doe or for God?” If the task will further Your mission, then let me be “meek.” Let me forget John Doe and remember only that I said I wanted to serve You. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Three Words of Cheer

“Fear not”

Isaiah 41:1

1 “Listen in silence before me, you lands beyond the sea. Bring your strongest arguments. Come now and speak. The court is ready for your case.

The Word of Pardon; “Fret not”

Psalm 37:1-5

1 Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. 2 For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. 3 Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. 5 Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

The Word of Peace “Faint not”

2 Corinthians 4:10-16

10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. 11 Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. 12 So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you. 13 But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.” 14 We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. 15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. 16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.

Quote of the Day

In trouble we are prone to forget all that we have heard and read that makes for our comfort. Now what is the reason that a man comes to think of that which otherwise he should never have called to mind? The Holy Spirit brings it to his remembrance; He is a Comforter, bringing to mind useful things at such times when we have most need of them.
