The Tower of Babel 06-22-17

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. He gave you another chance this morning so you better go ahead and praise Him. I’m going to ask another of those questions that no one really wants to hear. Is it God’s will for everyone to be the same and be comfortable? We will get the answer from Genesis 11 today.

Today’s Prayer

Father, what are You asking of us; our time, our talents, our money, our commitment, or MORE? Are You asking us to give of ourselves, and never count the cost? Are we to give, even though misunderstood? Are we to witness, even though it is not received? Are we to help others when it is unsolicited and unacknowledged? Lord, are You asking us to act as You would have acted in similar situations? The answer to all those questions is yes. Are we hearing You correctly? Help us, Lord, for we are often timid. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit daily, for we can’t do it alone. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Tower of Babel

Genesis 11:1-9

At one time all the people of the world spoke the same language and used the same words. As the people migrated to the east, they found a plain in the land of Babylonia and settled there. They began saying to each other, “Let’s make bricks and harden them with fire.” (In this region bricks were used instead of stone, and tar was used for mortar.) Then they said, “Come, let’s build a great city for ourselves with a tower that reaches into the sky. This will make us famous and keep us from being scattered all over the world.” But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Come, let’s go down and confuse the people with different languages. Then they won’t be able to understand each other.” In that way, the Lord scattered them all over the world, and they stopped building the city. That is why the city was called Babel, because that is where the Lord confused the people with different languages. In this way he scattered them all over the world.

Are you straight with the answer now? I hope no one is confused because it is crystal clear to me.

Quote of the Day

How many times do we miss God’s blessings because they are not packaged as we expected?
