Truth in a few Aspects 04-21-16

_ 042114 Truth

(CLICK THE PICTURE) This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Today’s prayer and message is going to shake up some things inside us and stir up those spiritual juices that help us stand for what is right so get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, as we study Your Word and ask You to make Your truth and Your guidance concerning our nation’s problems known to us, are we hearing You correctly?

“Since when did I ever say that to sin should be a civil right? How can my people call themselves Christians and advocate what I have called ‘sin’?”

But Lord, times have changed —

“I have not changed!”

Oh Lord, do You mean —

“Think it over carefully, for you cannot serve two masters,* the world and Me. You have to choose.”

Oh Lord, we are often confused and easily influenced by the beliefs of others. Forgive us, for we want to choose You — but, all the way?

“All the way!”

All right, Your way, Lord. But we won’t be very popular and we’ll lose some friends.

“You will have Me — forever. My grace will sustain you. Trust Me.”

Thank You Father, we will keep pursuing the truth. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Truth in a few Aspects

Clean

John 15:1-3 –

I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.

Being cleansed

2 Corinthians 7:1 –

Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.

Sanctified

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 –

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Being sanctified

John 17:17-19 –

Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.

Kept

1 Peter 1:5 –

And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

Keep yourselves

Jude 21 –

and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Quote of the Day

God has wisely kept us in the dark concerning future events and reserved for himself the knowledge of them that he may train us up in a dependence upon himself and a continued readiness for every event.
