We Have A Choice 04-22-21

_ 042214 Choices

Good day everyone. What a friend we have in Jesus. He gave us all that chose Him new life. We died to our old sinful life upon accepting Him as the Lord of our lives. I have a question for someone reading this message; did you really die to the old life or are you on life support? It’s a choice you make. That’s the word of the day, “choice”.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you today on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask you to remind us that You never meant that Christian love and mercy should cohabit with sin. Rather You taught that if we would confess our sin to You and truly repent, that You would forgive us; but You did not say that You would mercifully look the other way and allow us to continue in our sin. Lord, help us to understand Your Word as You revealed it to Your committed apostles, for Your truths and Your plan for the family are timeless. Remind us that You created our human sexuality to be a precious blessing. Help us to love You and trust You enough to live by Your rules. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Choice

Proverbs 22:1-16

Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold. The rich and poor have this in common: The Lord made them both. A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it. Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. Those who plant injustice will harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will come to an end. Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. Throw out the mocker, and fighting goes, too. Quarrels and insults will disappear. Whoever loves a pure heart and gracious speech will have the king as a friend. The Lord preserves those with knowledge, but he ruins the plans of the treacherous. The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!” The mouth of an immoral woman is a dangerous trap; those who make the Lord angry will fall into it. A youngster’s heart is filled with foolishness, but physical discipline will drive it far away. A person who gets ahead by oppressing the poor or by showering gifts on the rich will end in poverty.

Quote of the Day

The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of Christians is a God of love and comfort, a God who fills the soul and heart of those whom he possesses, a God who makes them conscious of their inward wretchedness, and his infinite mercy; who unites himself to their inmost soul, who fills it with humility and joy, with confidence and love, who renders them incapable of any other end than himself. -Blaise Pascal
